WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) met with Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) President Will Baker and CBF Federal Policy Director Alexandra Murdoch to discuss the Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprint, which aims to ensure all states share the responsibility of cleaning up the Bay, sets two-year, incremental pollution-reduction goals, and imposes consequences for failure to make progress. The plan includes enforceable pollution limits for nitrogen, phosphorous, and sediment set by the Environmental Protection Agency and the plans that Bay states have developed to meet those limits by 2025.

"I was pleased to join Will Baker and Alexandra Murdoch today to discuss the Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprint," stated Congressman Hoyer. "The Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries are among our most precious natural resources in the state of Maryland, and I remain committed to restoring the health of these critical waterways. The Blueprint laid out is important to reducing pollution, ensuring everyone shares in that responsibility, and tracking our progress. I'm hopeful that its implementation will help lead to full restoration of our waterways, and I will continue to work with the Foundation toward our shared goal of a healthier Chesapeake Bay."
