Hoyer Meets with Charles County Chamber of Commerce's Military Alliance Council

INDIAN HEAD, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) met today with community and business leaders from the newly established Charles County Chamber of Commerce's Military Alliance Council where he received updates on the Council's efforts to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center and revitalization of the town of Indian Head.

"Today I met with the Charles County Chamber of Commerce's Military Alliance Council to discuss our shared commitment for continued success for the Indian Head Naval Surface Warfare Center," stated Congressman Steny Hoyer. "The Naval Surface Warfare Center plays an important role in our country's national security, keeping America safe and protecting our homeland from attack, as well as in our local community. I look forward to working with the Council to continue strengthening this base and supporting economic growth in Indian Head."

The Indian Head Naval Surface Warfare Center is the leading Department of Defense (DoD) facility dedicated to the research and development of explosives, propellants, pyrotechnics, and high-energy chemicals and their application to warfighting systems. The Naval Surface Warfare Center is the largest DoD full-spectrum energetics facility and employs a workforce of more than 1,400.
