Hoyer Kicks Off Food Drive On National Day of Service
LOTHIAN, MD – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) took part in the National Day of Service – a day for Americans across the country to come together to serve their communities in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Congressman Hoyer participated by kicking off a food drive to benefit the South County Assistance Network (SCAN).
"I'm pleased I could join fellow Marylanders today on the National Day of Service to help those in need in our community," stated Congressman Hoyer. "I commend the South County Assistance Network for the important services they provide, and I thank Fifth District residents who have come together today and throughout the year to assist their neighbors and enhance our community."
SCAN is located at St. James Church in Anne Arundel County, and provides supplemental food to 200 South County families every month. Click here to learn more.
