September 7, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer hosted a virtual meeting with representatives from the Maryland Chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE).

"Maryland's Fifth District is home to over 62,000 federal employees who I proudly represent, and I was honored to host a meeting with members of the Maryland Chapter of NARFE today to discuss the important priorities of our federal workforce," said Congressman Hoyer. "Over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, our federal workforce has faced unprecedented challenges, and under the leadership of the past Administration, our civilian workforce faced relentless attacks that have undermined protections for our employees."

"I have continued to flight to ensure the tireless service of our federal employees and retirees is recognized, including through fair pay and safeguarding hard-earned benefits. I commend the Biden Administration for the actions it has taken to honor the service of our nation's federal workforce. I will continue to work with the Biden Administration and Maryland NARFE President Sudha Haley to advance the agenda of our nation's public servants," continued Congressman Hoyer.
