February 9, 2011

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) released the following statement after meeting with several Maryland State's Attorneys – including Angela Alsobrooks from Prince George's County; Frank Weathersbee from Anne Arundel County; Scott G. Patterson from Talbot County; and Assistant State's Attorney Bill Katcef from Anne Arundel County – who gathered in Washington, DC, for the National District Attorneys Association's Capital Conference:

"I was very pleased to meet today with some of Maryland's State's Attorneys. We had a very important discussion about what steps we can take to invest in public safety by attracting the most talented prosecutors and public defenders to serve in our communities. I look forward to continuing to work with them to ensure a safe environment in which Maryland families can raise their children and local businesses can grow and prosper."
