"[The President] can be positive. He can be empathetic and positive and say, 'we've got our eye on the ball.' He has handled Ukraine as well as could possibly be handled by looking at a criminal, dictatorial President of Russia who is invading for no reason at all, no possible actions that Ukraine has taken warrant this kind of invasion. I think the President's handled it very well. He needs to talk about that, and talk about our responsibility to respond - not put people in the field, but to make sure that Ukraine has the assets, the weaponry, the ammunition that their courage deserves."

"The pandemic, the virus and inflation have put people in a bad place and they are feeling under attack, and stressed with a lot of angst. And I think [the President] is going to empathize with that."

"Who do you blame when something is going wrong in the national scene? The President of the United States. whether he or she is at fault or not, they tend to get the blame. In this case, I do not think [President] Biden is deserving of the blame, but I think he's going to talk about his empathy for that angst, that challenge that the American people are facing."
