Hoyer Applauds Maryland Port Administration on Receiving "E" Star Award for Export Service

May 28, 2014

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) released the following statement today applauding the Maryland Port Administration on being honored with the "E" Star Award for Export Service by the Obama Administration:

"I congratulate the Maryland Port Administration on being honored today during the President's ‘E' Awards presentation, which is the highest recognition any U.S. business or organization can receive for significant contributions to increasing our nation's exports. The Port Administration has done an extraordinary job of keeping the Port of Baltimore competitive and preparing it for new business. One of the key components of the Make It In America jobs plan I'm leading in Congress is promoting the export of U.S. goods, and I am focused on investing in our transportation systems, including our nation's ports, so that more businesses can access markets and sell their products. I remain committed to working with the Port Administration, as well as federal, state, and local partners, to ensure that we continue to invest in the Port of Baltimore, which is critical to job creation and economic growth in our state."
