Hoyer Announces Opening of Social Security Administration Field Office in Southern Maryland

CHARLOTTE HALL, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) released the following statement today on the announcement that the Social Security Administration (SSA) is opening a field office in Charlotte Hall, Maryland – a location that will better serve the demand and growing population of seniors in Southern Maryland.

“I am pleased to announce that the Social Security Administration will be opening a field office in Southern Maryland,” stated Congressman Hoyer. “I have worked hard to preserve this critical program and ensure that seniors in Southern Maryland have access to the benefits they have earned after a lifetime of hard work. As I have done throughout my entire career, I will continue to fight to make Social Security services available and easily accessible to residents of the Fifth District.”

Providing better accessibility to residents of Southern Maryland has been an issue of great importance to Congressman Hoyer. Currently SSA offers services in tri-county area at various locations on an intermittent schedule. The new office, expected to open in April 2011, will be located at 371 Business Center Drive in Charlotte Hall, MD.
