FY 2022 Appropriations Requests:

The House Committee on Appropriations announced that Members of Congress were allowed to submit up to 10 community funding requests. Congressman Hoyer received many requests, some of which were not eligible under the criteria established by Committee.

All requests submitted by Congressman Hoyer to the Appropriations Committee are posted below. Members will be required to certify that neither they nor their immediate family have a financial interest in the requests made.

  • Applicant: Bowie State University
    Description: The funding would be used for the Institute that will focus on restorative justice and practices and will train staff, faculty, and community members.

  • Applicant: City of Bowie
    Description: The funding would be used to replace one mile of tuberculated cast iron water main. These funds would support design, construction, replacement meters, and related costs for the impacted pipes.

    Description: The funding would be used for to purchase new equipment to reflect current professional practice and standards in equipment.

  • Applicant: Historic Sotterly, 44300 Sotterley Lane, Hollywood, MD 20636
    Description: The funding would be used to address critical restoration and deferred maintenance in order to preserve its irreplaceable structures and allow it to continue as educational and cultural resource.

  • Applicant: Lifestyles of Maryland
    Description: The funding would be used to finance part of Phase 2 of the Southern Crossing project that includes the renovation and furnishings for 27 units of short term housing.

  • Applicant: Prince George's County Department of Health
    Description: The funding would be used for to the Prince George’s County Health Department (PGCHD) to build a school-based pediatric telehealth network to connect students in 100 Prince George’s County public schools to critical somatic and mental health care.

    Description: The funding would be used for to purchase water tanks for rural parts of the County that do not have an adequate water supply for use by the fire department.

  • Applicant: St. Mary's College of Maryland, 47645 College Dr, St Mary's City, MD 20686
    Description: The funding would be used to acquire a research vessel and associated equipment to support its roll-out of a new Marine Sciences program. The addition of a research vessel will enable SMCM students and faculty to pursue educational and research activities related to the rapidly changing global environment linked to climate change.
