Hoyer, Cardin Renew Push to Make Southern Maryland a New National Heritage Area

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) and Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) filed updated legislation today to designate Southern Maryland as a National Heritage Area (NHA) to further commemorate, conserve and promote important natural, scenic, historic, cultural and recreational resources in St. Mary’s, Calvert, Charles and Prince George’s counties. Senator Chris Van Hollen is an original co-sponsor of the legislation, S. 825.
