Hoyer Meets Virtually with Prince George’s County Council

WASHINGTON, DC – This morning, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) met virtually with members of the Prince George’s County Council to provide them with an update on the work House Democrats are seeking to accomplish in the 117th Congress.

“I appreciated the opportunity to meet with members of the Prince George’s County Council this morning to discuss some of the most pressing issues House Democrats are seeking to address in the 117th Congress,” said Congressman Hoyer. “Families in Prince George’s County are struggling immensely because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but House Democrats, along with President Biden and Vice President Harris, are working hard to deliver relief to those who need it. The Biden Administration’s American Rescue Plan puts the full weight of the federal government behind efforts to defeat COVID-19 and reopen our economy safely, and I look forward to working closely with the President to ensure this legislation is enacted.

“Additionally, I was pleased to share with the Council some of my other priorities for the 117th Congress, including bringing the FBI headquarters to Prince George’s County, lowering the cost of health care and prescription drugs for Marylanders, raising the minimum wage, and rebuilding our infrastructure systems to help Marylanders get around safely,” continued Congressman Hoyer. “I will continue to work closely with the Prince George’s County Council to improve the lives of families in our County, and around the state of Maryland.”
