President Trump and Republicans Shut Down the Government
Congressman Hoyer strongly opposes the partial government shutdown caused by President Trump's insistence on a costly, ineffective border wall. He is working to reach a responsible agreement to fund the government and end the furlough of thousands of federal employees across the country. For the sake of working families across the country, including over 62,000 federal employees in Maryland's Fifth District, Congressman Hoyer continues to urge both parties to work together and act responsibly to end the shutdown and operate in a responsible way.
Congressman Hoyer's office will be open to help our constituents to the best of our ability. Marylanders can expect some services to be unavailable or significantly curtailed during a partial government shutdown.
