White House Tours

Important Information About Requesting White House Tours

  1. In order to take a tour of the White House you'll need to follow specific instructions given by the White House. These instructions are available through Congressman Hoyer's office. Please use this website as a resource to obtain information regarding tours.
  2. The first step in the process to request a tour of the White House is to submit a tour request through this website.  After you complete the Tour Request Form and click Submit, Please write down for your notes which dates you requested and the total number of people you indicated were in your group. This information will be useful in securing your tour request in the future.
  3. Next, Please download the Security Information Spreadsheet and begin to collect information from everyone in your group, including children and infants. Even though my office will not need your security information unless your tour is approved by the White House Visitors Office, it is helpful for both parties if you are prepared with this information ahead of time.
  4. Please write down for your notes which dates you requested and how many people you requested in your group. It is a good idea to call the office to verify your request was received.
  5. Please wait until two weeks prior to your requested tour dates and call our office at (202) 225-4131 to check to see if your tour has been approved or denied by the White House Visitors OfficeOur office does not hear back from the White House Visitors Office regarding your tour status until 10 to 14 days prior to one's requested tour dates.
  6. If your tour is approved, fax in the Security Information Spreadsheet to (202) 225-4300 or send an email to the tour coordinator with the security information attached. The subject of the email you send should read your group name and requested tour date separated by a hypen, eg. "HOYER-June6".   If you send a fax, please write on the fax Attention Tour Coordinator.  Please call our office to confirm the spreadsheet has been received.
  7. Because of the high volume of requests our office receives, we may only contact you if your tour has been approved by the White House Visitor's Office.  However, you are welcome to check in on the status of your tour a couple of weeks before the tour date you requested.
  8. In the event your tour is approved, download and read carefully the White House Information Documents, listed below, as you prepare to tour the White House.
