The SBI program assists local, small and minority owned businesses. FDA White Oak Expansion Request: $300,000,000 General Services Administration 1800 F Street, NW, Washington, DC 20405 The funding would be used to complete construction of critical anti-bioterrorism laboratories/office space. Greenbelt Federal Courthouse Request: $10,000,000 General Services Administration 1800 F Street, NW, Washington DC 20405 The funding would be used to design a much needed addition to the U.S. Courthouse in Greenbelt, Maryland. This is a good use of taxpayer money because the Greenbelt Courthouse is already close to exceeding the size constraints of the building. This will lead the courthouse to face even greater space challenges in 2014 when four additional judges will require accommodations. Legal Services and Incarceration Prevention for Individuals with HIV/AIDS Request: $500,000 Whitman-Walker Clinic 1701 14th St., NW, Washington, DC 20009 Funding will provide legal services for individuals living with HIV/AIDS in the District of Columbia and Prince George's County, Maryland. A number of services require legal assistance including reducing recidivism among HIV-positive persons, helping the formerly incarcerated access health care and public assistance if too sick to work, and assuring individuals of their employment rights if able to work. This is a good use of taxpayer funds because preventing recidivism and enabling individuals to work saves money and helps grow our economy.
